I always look forward to the London Original Print Fair, usually held in the Royal Academy’s main gallery space. This year, you can view the 50 exhibitors online and purchase an incredible array of prints, from emerging talents to more established artists. Here are some of our top finds – happy hunting.
Stand 12 – Marlborough Graphics
Marlborough Graphics is always one of our first stops, with heavy weight prints by Joe Tilson, Francis Bacon and Louise Bourgeois. This year, I liked a series of prints by Mark Francis called ‘Field’ – these would look interesting framed and hung as a collection to brighten any room. I like the way they almost look like weaves.
Stand 35 – Long & Ryle
This is also one of our favourite galleries. We collect Ramiro Fernandez Saus’ joyful work which can be found at this stand, along with other interesting prints.
Stand 8 – Raw Editions
This is a new gallery launched by Tanya Grigoroglou in 2017. It specialises in post war and contemporary editions by American and British printmakers. This large Howard Hodgkin ‘After Degas’ print is on our wish list. It would look sublime in a simple frame over a fireplace.
Stand 39 – The Redfern gallery
Redfern gallery was founded in 1923 and is now a well established dealer of Modern British and contemporary art in London. I was drawn to this Patrick Procktor RA lithograph.
Stand 34 – Smithson Gallery
These prints by Nick Grindrod would look lovely hanging together like a tryptic – they are graphic and interesting with a pop of colour.
Stand 24- Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery
This gallery is on Charlotte Street near our jewel, Charlotte Street Hotel. I always look forward to seeing the colourful delights Rebecca has to offer, she has such a good eye and is great fun.
Stand 46 – Enitharmon Editions
I love the colours in this Caroline Walker Print ‘Calling’.
Stand 42 – Atelier Rose Gray
This stand includes Royal Academicians, Turner Prize nominees & Winners – I am the proud owner of a Julian Opie painting hanging at The Whitby Hotel in NYC – they are so memorable and graphic.
Stand 22 – Eames Fine Art
This fabulous gallery is situated in three locations in Bermondsey, London. They specialise with works on paper. I love these Monotype prints by John Crossley, a British artist from Suffolk.
