I have always been a huge fan of Paula Rego’s work, I love her naïve subject matters portrayed in a dark way. Her work scares you at the same time as drawing you in, you want to look at it more to see the beautiful markings and colours but the subject matters often haunt you. Quite like a mixture between a nightmare and a dream/ a nightmarish Dream.

David Hockney’s prints have always been some of my favourite works, and his swimming pool series, maybe his most iconic are really just so beautiful. In this print I love his use of green and blue and the water made of lines. If you really watch sunlight hitting the water in the swimming pool to me this is exactly what it looks like.

Craigie Aitchison is a family favourite, he lived and worked near our family home in Bradford on Avon. They are works that I enjoy looking at every day. His use of colour is unusually beautiful, he changes the colour of nature in a way that makes you believe it is the truth…. mountains are purple.

Grayson Perry, one of my favourite artists ever, I love everything he creates, from his pottery, tapestries and prints. This Map of Nowhere is so intricate and intriguing, I could look at it for hours.

Bridget Riley, an optical feast for your eyes.

Louise Bourgeois’s depictions of the female form have always intrigued me; I love how she portrays the female human body, particularly here, in its prime pregnant with child (as I currently am myself!)
